The Ruthless Gardener wanders

Decided I'd take you on a quick tour of the garden and made a little video to show you the borders as they are at the moment.

In my previous incarnation in trade publishing, I used to be known as 'slasher' for my curt editorial tendencies, and listening to my commentary, I can see that this trait has now translated itself to the garden. I didn't realise how many plants are on a yellow card until I heard my multiple pronouncements of imminent death.  It's always good to keep plants on their toes though - once they stop performing or become pests, get them out!  It also gives you room for more new ones....

So, if you are sitting comfortably, then we'll begin. (Don't know why this especially boring shot shows in the preview, but I'm learning all this video mularkey as I go along)

    1. Thanks for visiting. The garden is certainly enjoying the sunshine and showers after a dry spell. I hope the rain doesn't keep up incessantly for the next nine months like it did last year!

  2. Thanks for the tour! I love the tulips (especially the red and orange) surrounded by forget-me-nots.

    1. Glad you enjoyed it - will try to remember to take you back round it later in the season when the next flowers are up and at 'em. I love those tulips too - still my favourites, although the massive melony one 'Perestroyka' has won me over this year as well.

  3. Great idea doing a video, am always fascinated looking round other people's gardens. You've got so many different plants - the raised bed of tulips were my fave.

    1. They're one of my favourite bits at the moment too, but I think there will be lots more going on in the next few weeks in other bits. Very much looking forward to that.

The video idea was gleaned from the 'Blooming Blogs' site, a good place to join if you want to get involved with a wider community of gardening bloggers - some good tips and ideas for blogging too.
