    1. maybe we're all undergoing stratification and will burst into life much more freely after a spell in the cold?

  2. Don't talk about it, it is too bad: we have a real springwinter as we have not had in 90 years according to the newspapers.

    1. I keep growling at the renewed snow flurries and telling the snow to 'go away', but in slightly less polite terms. I am a great fan of snowy landscapes and sledging, but it's just not funny any more.

  3. I think we may finally be escaping winter here in Chicago. Spring will come.

  4. Sun is glinting off the snowfall today, but we have an icy wind keeping things cool. It's lovely in the greenhouse though - very snug. Will have to focus my efforts there for the time being but every surface is getting very full! Lots of autumn sowings are ready for a taste of proper soil - just can't get at it yet.

  5. I'm not complaining about our Pennsylvania winter any more now I see what is happening in England. Well, that's not exactly true ...

  6. Slowly thawing, with the emphasis on slowly. Back garden still covered in 6 inches of snow - very fed up with it. The wind still icily blowing in from the east and no sign of any change in the forecast yet. Grim.

    1. They do help, but fill up all too quickly in this weather. I can't wait to get beyond gardening under cover now - it is time....
